3 of my favorite’s taken off the flopped Aftermath compilation (Blunt Time, East Coast / West Coast Killaz & Been There Done That) & 3 songs from The Firm album (Firm Family (CPT to QB), “Time” being a leak & Five Minutes to Flush). California Love was originally for this album, later 2Pac used the remix for All Eyez On Me. Most songs found their way onto official projects over the years but were recorded during the years years while working on The Chronic 2.

Intro, 1 skit & an interlude into the outro. Dre wanted to keep the spotlight more on the collaborators similar to his Aftermath compilation, with less focus on himself.Īppearances by the legendary: Nature, KRS-ONE, Scarface, Too $hort, Nas, 2Pac, B-Real, Ice Cube, King T, Roger Troutman & many more. In my compilation it features a few songs from Dre's time at Death Row & has less verses from him than the original first Chronic. Being that Snoop was transitioning off Death Row onto No Limit, this would be Dre’s way to push his sound & collaborate with East, West & South legends. In my head this replaces The Aftermath compilation, taking 3 songs from the project being that they fit seamlessly into the sound with the other songs. This would hypothetically be the follow up to 1992 classic “The Chronic”. I decided to go back to the compilation adding some structure giving it a real project feel. Originally this was made as just a collection of songs and not any structure, being my first compilation. *in no way is this an accurate recreation of any project, but a personal compilation of favorites within the era.
